Job summary

Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Inc. seeks a PhD-level quantitative pharmacologist for its DMPK group in Cambridge, MA. You will design and interpret ADME and PK/PD studies for siRNA and other modalities, apply nonclinical and clinical pharmacology modeling, and help forecast human dose and regulatory submissions.

This onsite role emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and rigorous data analysis in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• PhD in pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacology, chemical or biomedical engineering, or related quantitative discipline with 0+ years; or Masters with 5+ years, or Bachelor's with 10+ years in DMPK/quantitative pharmacology.
• Strong foundation in quantitative pharmacology and PK/PD modeling with hands-on data analysis experience.
• Exposure to PBPK, population PK, or systems/mechanistic pharmacology modeling is a strong plus.
• Proficiency with modeling, simulation, and programming tools (Phoenix WinNonlin, Monolix, R).
• Solid understanding of ADME principles and drug discovery/development; knowledge of oligonucleotide therapeutics (siRNA) or other novel modalities is a plus.
• Demonstrates problem solving, adaptability, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Support DMPK strategy across discovery and development by designing, executing, and interpreting in vitro and in vivo ADME and PK/PD studies for siRNA and other modalities.
• Apply quantitative pharmacology approaches including non-compartmental analysis, compartmental PK/PD, PBPK, and mechanistic/systems modeling to characterize drug disposition and exposure–response relationships.
• Integrate PK, PD, and biomarker data to inform candidate selection, human dose projection, and first-in-human dose predictions.
• Build, qualify, and document models and simulations using Phoenix WinNonlin, Monolix, R and other tools.
• Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to analyze data and communicate quantitative pharmacology insights.
• Prepare analyses, reports, and presentations, and contribute to regulatory submissions as needed.
• Stay current with emerging modeling methodologies and scientific literature.
