Job summary

Southlake Orthopaedics is seeking a full-time DME Coordinator for our Hoover location, a busy, fast-paced orthopaedic clinic. You will verify patient insurance benefits and determine required payments before dispensing DME items, and you will help maintain stock levels by dispensing from inventory.

You should be courteous, professional, and organized; prior DME or orthotics experience is preferred. The role typically follows a Mon-Fri schedule with comprehensive benefits including health

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior DME experience preferred.
• Orthotic fitter or similar experience preferred.
• Prior brace fitting experience preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office applications.
• Excellent organizational skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Check patient insurance benefits and obtain authorizations before DME delivery.
• Dispense items from inventory after delivery to maintain stock levels.
• Assist in fitting items when other staff are with patients.
• Schedule patients in Greenway and Outlook for product orders.
• Answer phones and transfer calls as required.

Southlake Orthopaedics has an opening for a full-time DME Coordinator at our Hoover location, which is a busy and very fast paced orthopaedic clinic. The ideal candidate should be courteous, professional, and organized.

The DME Coordinator is responsible for checking patient insurance benefits prior to the delivery of off-the-shelf DME (Durable Medical Equipment) items, including determining the proper payment required, and collection of such payments, prior to dispensing the DME item.

Responsibilities And Duties

• Check patient insurance benefits and obtaining required authorizations prior to DME product delivery
• Dispense items from inventory after delivery to keep optimum stock par levels
• Assist in the fitting of items from time to time when all other staff are with patients
• Schedule patients in Greenway and Microsoft Outlook to the proper provider when product must be ordered, or a custom item is needed
• Answer phones and transfer calls as required

Qualifications And Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior DME experience preferred
• Orthotic fitter or similar experience preferred
• Prior brace fitting experience preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
• Competent in the use of a personal computer and tablet
• Excellent organizational skills
