Job summary

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) in Enid, OK is seeking a part-time laboratory technologist to perform routine testing across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular, and microbiology.

Responsibilities include specimen processing, instrument maintenance, and collaboration with staff; requirements include BS in relevant field and ASCP eligibility; weekend coverage is expected and sign-on bonus available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• ASCP or equivalent exam eligible within 1–3 years; MLT/MLS certification preferred.
• Experience with laboratory procedures and able to troubleshoot issues.

Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma (DLO) - $8000 Sign on Bonus available for this position

Location: Enid, OK

Hours: Monday-Friday 0700-1530 rotating weekends and holidays

Essential Functions

• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
• Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities

Responsibilities

• Performs routine testing in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, serology, coagulation, molecular, and microbiology.Assist with specimen processing as needed.
• Follow employer and hospital policies.
• Perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Main responsibility will be duties in the clinical laboratory.
• Additional duties will include assisting supervisor/manager with special projects/assignments.

Qualifications

Education Requirements: BS in chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory technology; Previously qualified as a technologist under 42 CFR 493.1489

Credentials: ASCP or equivalent exam eligible within 1-3 years, MLT/MLS certification preferred

Required Knowledge

• Good understanding of laboratory procedures.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, to identify cause and synthesize

• Good computer skills a plus.
• Knowledge in Epic and Media Lab is a plus.

Physical and Mental Requirements

• The normal performance of duties may require lifting and carrying objects: Objects 1 to 10 pounds are lifted and carried frequently; objects 11 to 25 pounds are lifted and carried occasionally; objects 36 to 50 pounds are seldom lifted or carried and objects over 50 pounds are not to be lifted or carried without assistance.
• Ability to stand and work at the bench for long periods of time.
• Frequent walking and/or standing.
• May be required to use a wide variety of manual and automated pipettes and laboratory instruments and apparatuses all of which demand significant manual dexterity.
