Job summary

Quest Diagnostics' Diagnostic Laboratory of Oklahoma in Owasso, OK is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform tests across chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, blood bank and limited microbiology. You will assist with phlebotomy and specimen processing.

Qualifications include A.A.S or BS in Medical Laboratory Technology. OT and weekend coverage may be required; strong teamwork and computer skills are essential for success in this lab environment.

Essential Functions:

• Report to work on time and prepared for each scheduled shift
• Perform all assigned duties and processes, including tasks for which you are fully qualified and those within your demonstrated capabilities
• Maintain a positive, professional, and supportive attitude throughout the workday
• Work collaboratively as a team member and contribute to a respectful, productive work environment

Responsibilities:

• Perform tests in chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, serology, blood bank and limited microbiology.
• Assist with phlebotomy and specimen processing.
• Follow employee policies, work with fellow employees in a professional productive manner; perform instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge: General laboratory knowledge, including the use of computers; knowledge of QA and QC as well as knowledge of all areas of the laboratory.

Required Experience: A.A.S, Medical laboratory technology; BS Medical technology

Special Requirements: Ability to maintain a professional, courteous and pleasant attitude in times of heavy workload and stress. Teamwork with fellow employees is a must. Keyboard skills are important as is multitasking. May be required to work overtime or other shifts or days as needed. Weekend rotation and holiday coverage required.
