Job summary

State of North Carolina - Department of Transportation seeks an Engineer III (NS) to serve as Project Manager in the Division One Project Development Unit in Edenton, NC. Oversees planning, design, right-of-way, environmental issues and construction readiness for Division projects.

The role involves extensive coordination with consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery within scope and budget, with PE registration often preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering and four years of progressively responsible experience.
• Professional Engineer registration may be required by NC Board (NCEES) as a possible prerequisite.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee Division-managed projects from inception through final construction plans.
• Coordinate with consultants, external stakeholders, NCDOT units, regulatory agencies and the public.
• Prepare planning documents, final construction plans and supporting studies for project delivery.
• Monitor project scopes, schedules, budgets and resource utilization to ensure timely delivery.
