Job summary

You will mentor engineers, manage budgeting, and collaborate with leadership on growth strategies for Northern Virginia and surrounding markets. An active PE license is required to lead design and approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Active Virginia PE license required.
• Minimum eight years of progressive civil engineering and land development experience.
• Experience managing engineering staff, project teams, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.
• Experience with site plans in Northern Virginia jurisdictions.
• Strong background in land development engineering, drainage design, and stormwater management.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the Engineering Department.
• Supervise and develop engineers, designers, CAD technicians, and support staff.
• Manage staffing plans, workload, resource allocation, and project assignments.
• Drive accountability, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and succession planning.
• Oversee project delivery from concept to completion and client relations.
• Lead business development, proposals, and fee strategy.
