Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory seeks a Division Director for the Technical Division to lead engineering, design, and technical organizations, reporting to the Associate Laboratory Director for FIP, and collaborating with the EIC Project Director to ensure execution and long-term readiness.

The role demands strategic vision, budget oversight for a multi-hundred million program, and a proven record in leading multidisciplinary teams, advancing safety, quality, and stakeholder engagement across DOE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
• Twelve (12)+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in a scientific/DOE setting, including at least eight (8) years in senior or executive roles.
• Proven success leading large multidisciplinary engineering, technical, scientific, and project organizations.
• Experience managing large operating and project budgets and allocating resources across programs.
• Ability to engage effectively with senior Laboratory leadership, DOE sponsors, and external stakeholders.
• Commitment to fostering an open, collaborative, safe, and high-performing workplace culture.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills for executive-level presentations.

Responsibilities

• Establish strategic vision, organizational structure, workforce plans, and engineering capabilities for the EIC accelerator complex.
• Provide executive leadership for Division resource planning and delivery of engineering milestones.
• Oversee lifecycle management of accelerator systems from conception to operation and modernization.
• Promote innovation, technology development, and high standards of safety, quality, and reliability.
• Represent the Division with DOE sponsors, advisory committees, and partner institutions.
