Job summary

Brookhaven National Laboratory seeks a Division Director – Technical Division for the Electron-Ion Collider (EIC) project. The role leads engineering, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and long-term operations of the EIC accelerator complex.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
  • 12+ years of progressively responsible leadership in a scientific or large technical enterprise with at least 8 years in senior/executive roles.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering, technical, scientific, and project organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and organizational development for the Division.
  • Manage annual operating and project budgets exceeding $200M.
  • Oversee lifecycle management of accelerator systems from design to operations and replacement.
  • Engage with senior leadership, sponsors, and external stakeholders to communicate complex issues and ensure alignment.
