Job summary

Jefferson Lab seeks an Associate Laboratory Director for Fundamental Physics to provide strategic and operational leadership for Nuclear Theory, EIC Science, and HEP, guiding the Lab's capabilities and research portfolio. The role reports to the Deputy Lab Director and is part of the Tier 1 leadership team.

You will advance cross-cutting initiatives, engage with DOE and external partners, and drive performance, safety, and workforce development across the division.

Qualifications

• 20+ years of international recognition in the field.
• 5+ years of executive management experience leading large, complex programs.
• Proven track record developing and executing scientific strategy with stakeholders.
• Experience communicating with sponsors, staff, and scientific communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for Fundamental Physics portfolio.
• Deliver EIC operations and non-CEBAF physics programs.
• Lead Talent strategies including leadership development and succession planning.
• Oversee safety, compliance, and performance assessments Lab-wide.
