Knape & Vogt Manufacturing Company in Grand Rapids, MI, is seeking a Division Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting, planning, and working capital management within a manufacturing setting. You will own month-end close, drive accurate reporting, and partner with division leadership to improve profitability and cash flow.

The role requires 5–7 years in accounting or finance, with cost accounting or controlling experience preferred, and a BS in Accounting or Finance.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in Accounting or Finance, with cost accounting/controlling preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Division President to improve financial and operational performance of the division.
• Serve as a key member of the division leadership team, providing financial guidance and operational leadership.
• Collaborate with the Corporate Controller and CFO to improve financial reporting, analysis, and performance management.
• Translate financial results into actionable insights that support strategic decision making.
• Lead/own the month end close process for the division.
• Maintain a monthly close checklist; ensure timely, accurate month end close and complete financial reporting.
• Work closely with corporate finance and accounting on the month end close and consolidation process.
• Monitor performance against budget and prior year and explain key variances.
• Prepare and present the division financials to the Division President and corporate accounting/finance teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve profitability, cash flow, working capital and overall financial performance.
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and company accounting policies.
