Job summary

Crown Utilities, LLC is seeking a Division Controller to lead financial reporting for Crown Utilities – Northwest and Excel Utility Contractors – Midwest. You will oversee WIP, backlogs, and ASC 606, ensuring GAAP compliance and strong internal controls.

You will partner with operations to improve profitability, manage working capital, and support strategic decisions while coordinating with Corporate and private equity stakeholders. Leadership of the Finance & Accounting team is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• 8+ years progressive accounting experience in construction or job cost environments.
• Strong ASC 606 revenue recognition knowledge.
• Experience managing multi-state operations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and data structuring skills.
• Advanced Excel and ERP proficiency.
• Proven ability to manage and motivate teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee timely preparation of financial statements: balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements.
• Oversee WIP schedules, backlog reporting, and ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Ensure accurate tracking of overbillings/underbillings and GAAP compliance.
• Coordinate with external auditors and surety providers.
• Prepare financial reports for management and stakeholders with insights into performance.
• Lead divisional reporting to Corporate and private equity stakeholders.
• Monitor project-level gross margins and labor utilization, cost controls.
