Job summary

The Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama is seeking an experienced academician to serve as Chief for the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine.

The role leads clinical care, education, and research for a regional pediatric ED serving over a million people. You will build innovative programs, mentor faculty, and ensure fiscal vitality while expanding scholarly activity and partnerships with USA Health and affiliate sites.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
• Alabama medical licensure eligibility.
• Associate or Full Professor rank with eligibility for USA appointment.
• Experience in a complex, integrated academic medical setting.
• Strong record in academic leadership and management including budgeting, planning, and operations.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and team building.
• A track record as an educator with scholarship and mentorship of trainees and junior faculty.
• Excellent professional reputation.
