Job summary

Premier Health in Southwest Ohio seeks an accomplished endocrinologist to serve as Institute - Division Chief of Internal Medicine Subspecialties (Allergy/Immunology, Endocrinology, Rheumatology). The role focuses on clinical care, research, and education within a comprehensive academic health system.

Leadership duties include strategic program development, recruitment, and collaboration with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree with board certification in endocrinology.
• 3–5+ years of leadership experience.
• Active medical license.
• Active faculty or eligibility to become faculty of BSOM.
• Experience in recruitment, retention, and oversight of clinicians, educators, and researchers.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary and innovative leadership to the Division and Institute, advancing the mission of Wright State University and Premier Health.
• Promote and maintain standards of excellence in compliance with national standards and promote strong departmental and institute performance.
• Stabilize and grow the physician/advanced practice provider workforce within the Division and Institute.
• Provide the vision and leadership to foster superior clinical and educational programs within medicine and related disciplines.
• Engage in communications across departments and institutes within the Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine and Premier Health.
• Promote community health initiatives within the department and institute for the patient population served by the organization.
• Partner with academic program directors to develop and implement structured teaching rotations that support educational objectives for learners; lead academic priorities.
• Recruit, develop, and oversee section chiefs.
• Serve as the physician champion for clinical integration across the continuum of care.
• Foster a culture of teaching engagement, accountability, and collaboration among physicians, APPs, and staff.
• Support institute meetings and forums, encouraging participation and perspectives while ensuring strategic alignment.
• Oversee and support hospital call schedules to ensure seamless clinical coverage.
• Collaborate with directors to support operational management that optimizes practice efficiency.
• Improve physician and provider engagement as measured by annual surveys; build relationships with referring physicians.
• Monitor and enhance provider productivity through data-driven strategies and performance evaluation.
• Uphold and advance practice quality standards to ensure excellence in patient experience.
• Provide oversight for APPs, ensuring adherence to standards of care and documentation.
