Job summary

Premier Health in partnership with Wright State University Boonshoft School of Medicine seeks an accomplished leader to serve as Division Chief of Internal Medicine Academics. The role focuses on growing academic health platforms, advancing clinical care, research, and education, and aligning with the Institute Chair and department leadership.

The ideal candidate will drive innovation in care delivery, supervise faculty and learners, and promote scholarly activity.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree with board certification in the specialty.
• Active medical license to practice.
• Active faculty or eligible to become faculty of BSOM.

Responsibilities

• Provide visionary leadership to the Division and Institute within Wright State University and Premier Health.
• Promote excellence in compliance with national standards and departmental performance.
• Grow physician/APC workforce within the Division and Institute.
• Lead educational programs and collaborations across medicine and related disciplines.
• Engage in cross-department communications across Wright State University BSOM and Premier Health.
• Promote community health initiatives for the department's patient population.
• Develop structured teaching rotations for medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Recruit, develop and oversee section chiefs.
• Serve as physician champion for clinical integration across care continuum.
• Foster teaching engagement, accountability and collaboration among physicians, APPs and staff.
• Support institute meetings, ensuring strategic alignment and broad participation.
• Oversee hospital call schedules for seamless clinical coverage.
• Contribute to budget planning and fiscal management for the division.
• Collaborate to optimize practice efficiency and effectiveness.
• Improve provider engagement and build relationships with referring physicians.
• Monitor provider productivity with data-driven methods.
• Uphold quality standards and patient experience.
• Oversee APPs, ensuring care standards and documentation accuracy.
