Job summary

Dayton Area School Consortium seeks a Diving Coach for Springboro High School as a one-year supplemental contract. The role reports to the Athletic Director and encompasses supervision of practice sessions, meet management, and program coordination.

The coach will organize practice, manage equipment, maintain records, and ensure safe, respectful behavior during competitions and training. Additional duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must maintain Pupil Activity Supervisor validation and CPR training.
• Must pass criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Supervise practice sessions and scheduled home and away meets.
• Organize and set all practice sessions.
• Distribute, collect and maintain inventory of equipment/uniforms.
• Keep all necessary records and forms.
• Cooperate with athletic programs within Springboro.
• Promote school pride and ensure respectful conduct by divers and spectators.
• Arrange tryouts and selection procedures as needed.
• Ensure adherence to diving rules and regulations.
• Assist with diving competitions and other assigned duties.

SUMMARY: This person will be employed on a supplemental contract and be assigned duties of Diving Coach for Springboro High School activities. Reports to Athletic Director.

DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

• Supervisory responsibilities for practice sessions and scheduled home and away meets.
• Organize and set all practice sessions.
• Distribute, collect and maintain an inventory of all equipment / uniforms.
• Keep all necessary records and forms.
• Cooperate with all concerned in the athletic programs at Springboro.
• Maintain discipline at all practice sessions and games.
• Promote school and student pride by requiring divers/swimmers to behave in an appropriate and respectful manner when dealing with officials, players, coaches, spectators, and school personnel.
• Promote school and student pride.
• Arrange for and conduct selection procedures and tryouts as needed.
• Assure student adherence to diving rules and regulations.
• Perform other functions as necessary to implement goals and objectives of the diving and athletic programs at Springboro.
• Aid/oversee diving competitions as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior supervisory experience and/or knowledge of diving preferred.
• Ability to work with young students and provide a positive influence on their lives.
• Maintain current Pupil Activity Supervisor validation and CPR training certificate as required by Board policy and the Ohio Department of Education.
• Must pass criminal background check.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

• Effective Date: 2026/2027 school year
• Length of Employment: One-year supplemental contract.
• Salary: According to the negotiated agreement.
