Job summary

Augsburg University is seeking an Academic Advisor to support traditional and adult undergraduate students with comprehensive advising, orientation, and degree planning. You’ll use our student information systems to generate reports and coordinate with campus partners to enhance student success.

The role requires cultural competence, strong communication, and collaboration across departments to help students navigate policies and complete their degrees.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Psychology, College Administration, or related field.
• Three years of professional work experience.
• Knowledge of counseling theories and student development.

Responsibilities

• Provide advising for undergraduate, prospective, and transfer students.
• Assist with registration, scheduling, drops/adds, holds, and general advising questions.
• Guide course selection and monitor progress toward degree completion.
• Support technology tools that enhance advising and student success.
• Stay updated on higher education policies and requirements.
• Collaborate with various departments on programs and special admissions events.
