Responsibilities include supporting various program budgets & WBS numbers throughout the division by preparing monthly budget reports, monitoring expenses & maintaining databases. The role includes assisting with budgeting, tracking expenditures, generating & analyzing reports, and coaching peers and maintenance supervisors in budget management strategies. This position will also assist with the development of new contracts for various maintenance functions, and in the administration of ID/IQ contracts throughout the Division. The position will also track the Division’s Secondary Road Construction program and oversee special projects as assigned. The role will also help troubleshoot issues throughout maintenance areas and ensure consistency in the application of policies and procedures throughout the Division. The selected candidate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle**Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences**Salary Grade and Salary Range: NC18 $63,927 - $111,871**Management prefers applicants with the following:*** Experience writing memos, reports, and emails that clearly convey technical information and engineering concepts with Division personnel and contractors.* Experience in planning, developing, scheduling, tracking, and completing projects independently or with limited supervision.* Working knowledge and skill in the use of computer equipment, software and mathematical functions.* Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff across the Department, other agencies, and the public.* Experience in tracking operation cost expenditures **Minimum Education and Experience**Some state job postings say you can qualify by an “equivalent combination of education and experience.” If that language appears below, then you may qualify through EITHER years of education OR years of directly related experience, OR a combination of both.
