Job summary

Hartford Public Schools is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to provide districtwide services to students referred through the educational process. You will observe, evaluate, and assess students and participate on the IEP team to develop and implement curriculum-based OT plans.

You will maintain records, report progress to parents, and collaborate with school personnel and outside agencies as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Experience with children/youth in school or community health programs.
• Credentialed by the American Occupational Therapy Association.

Responsibilities

• Observe, evaluate, and assess students referred for occupational therapy as it relates to their educational needs.
• Serve as member of the IEP team in evaluating, reviewing, placing, or developing IEPs for children in compliance with state and federal laws.
• Develop curriculum based IEPs and carry out programs for children needing occupational therapy.
• Implement OT as defined in the IEP or 504 accommodations.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with Hartford Board of Education.
• Report progress to parents on an ongoing basis and in compliance with state and federal regulations.
