Job summary

The Carlisle Area School District is seeking a School Police Officer to safeguard district facilities in Carlisle, PA. You will monitor grounds, manage security and traffic, operate CCTV and alarms, and collaborate with school leadership to enforce policies.

Requirements include MPOETC Act 120 training and PSP Academy graduation, plus prior law enforcement experience. Immediate start; mileage between buildings reimbursed; join a team dedicated to student safety and positive role modelling.

Qualifications

• Must hold MPOETC Act 120 basic training.
• Graduate of Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
• Former PSP Trooper or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Familiar with PA law as it relates to law enforcement.
• Willing to complete NASRO and mandatory in-service trainings.

Responsibilities

• Monitor school grounds, cafeteria, restrooms and halls for policy compliance.
• Perform security checks of buildings and report safety concerns.
• Direct campus traffic, parking, school bus drop-offs and pickups.
• Operate CCTV systems, mobile radios, Fire/Burglar Alarms.
• Issue summary citations under PA Vehicle Code or Crimes code.
• Complete necessary reports, investigations and building checks.
• Escort students to or from classrooms, offices, or other areas.
• Assist principals and district staff in enforcing Board policies.
• Provide security for extracurricular activities and events.
