Job summary

Arlington Central School District is seeking a Supervisor of Special Education District Wide to lead SPED services and program coordination. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality transition pathways from Early Intervention to CPSE, and onward to Kindergarten, while supporting UPK programs.

The successful candidate will have deep knowledge of IDEA, strong leadership and collaboration skills, and the ability to coordinate with families, county agencies, and service providers to meet the needs

Qualifications

• Experience leading district-level special education programs.
• Deep knowledge of IDEA and related disability services.
• Strong communication, coordination, and collaboration with families, schools, and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Chair CSE and CPSE as applicable.
• Maintain knowledge of federal/state SPED laws and mandates.
• Ensure compliance with NYS reporting systems (STAC, IHO, Medicaid, ESY).
• Oversee IEP integrity and timelines across the district.
• Coordinate with preschool evaluation sites for evaluations.
• Guide transitions from EI to CPSE and CPSE to Kindergarten.
• Oversee SPED placements (SEIS, SCIS, half/full-day classes).
• Resolve SPED issues and disputes; adhere to policies.
