Job summary

KEARNY PUBLIC SCHOOLS seeks a District Supervisor of Special Services to plan, implement, and coordinate the PK-12 SPED program. This long-term leave replacement reports to the Director of Special Services and requires leadership potential and a strong SPED background.

The ideal candidate will hold NJ Supervisor and SPED certificates, have at least five years of relevant experience, and be ready to start October 27, 2026, with continuity through June 30, 2026. AA/EOE.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Standard New Jersey Supervisor certificate.
• Must hold a New Jersey Teacher of the Handicapped (2470) or Teacher of Students with Disabilities (2475) certificate.
• Minimum of five years of successful experience as a special education teacher or Child Study Team member.
• Evidence of leadership potential from prior roles, references and interviews.
• Must be available to start on October 27, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Plan for development, implementation, coordination and improvement of the district's PK-12 special services program.
• Provide leadership to district-wide special education initiatives, ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.
• Collaborate with the Director of Special Services to monitor program quality and student outcomes.
