Job summary

Mounds View Public Schools is seeking a DAPE Teacher (district wide) for a .7 FTE, part-time schedule to start ASAP. Pay follows the teacher labor agreement, with benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, and more as detailed in the benefits summary.

The role requires MN licensure in DAPE (K-12) and the ability to collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication, instructional adaptability, and expertise in IEP processes and DAPE methods.

Qualifications

• Licensed by the state of MN in DAPE for grades K-12.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.
• Ability to employ high expectations using a variety of instructional techniques and media.
• Knowledge and experience with due process procedures.
• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with developing student IEPs; help establish goals/objectives; complete IEP components for DAPE.
• Provide direct special education instruction to students identified for DAPE services.
• Perform DAPE educational assessments as required.
• Participate in IEP meetings as required.
• Maintain documentation related to third party billing.
• Maintain and complete progress notes, consultation notes, and/or letters.
• Develop culturally responsive practices that lead to equitable outcomes for all students, especially underrepresented groups in special education.
• Demonstrate current knowledge of instructional best practices and DAPE methods.
• Collaborate with others to plan, teach and support students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment.
• Advocate for students with disabilities to ensure high achievement.
• Promote and develop strong communication and collaboration with staff, parents and other professionals.
• Other related duties as assigned.
