The ideal candidate will hold a High School diploma or GED, a Texas Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement, and several certifications, plus at least two years of repair experience. The district offers competitive hourly pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Class B CDL with Passenger Endorsement.
• Certified Texas Vehicle Safety Inspector.
• Texas School Bus Driver’s Certification.
• Air Conditioning Certification.
• Two years experience in vehicle repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate mechanical and electrical problems in vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
• Rebuild, replace or repair vehicle parts such as engines, brakes, transmissions, cooling systems and electrical assemblies.
• Analyze engine performance and tune.
• Perform preventive and routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment based on established schedules.
• Perform state safety inspections for all district vehicles.
