Battle Creek Public Schools (BCPS) is seeking District Substitute Teachers through Edustaff for multiple openings. You will provide instructional support in assigned schools, cover teacher absences, and follow lesson plans to maintain continuity of instruction.

Salary is $180 per day with an 188-day contract. The role requires flexibility, strong classroom management, and the ability to engage students across grade levels while collaborating with school staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 60 college credits with a 2.0 GPA or a valid Michigan substitute certificate.
• Must meet district requirements.
• Experience with diverse learners preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report to assigned school each scheduled workday and accept classroom or instructional assignments based on building needs.
• Provide classroom coverage for teacher absences and other staffing needs.
• Implement lesson plans and instructional activities while maintaining continuity of instruction.
• Create and maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and productive learning environment.
• Establish and maintain classroom routines, expectations, and student behavior.
• Engage students in learning and provide academic assistance throughout the day.
• Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and staff as needed.
• Maintain regular attendance and adapt to changing assignments.
