Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of Texas school finance and district accounting.
• Three years in Texas school finance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site technical assistance and training for public schools and charter schools in school finance, budget development and financial management.
• Serve as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and local districts and charter schools.
• Develop and implement program procedures based on State initiatives and regional needs.
• Utilize effective interpersonal skills to promote a positive and caring work climate.
• Participate in appropriate professional development activities to enhance skills and knowledge in areas of responsibility.
• Perform state funding calculations for public schools and charter schools.
• Assist districts in all facets of budget development and management.
• Conduct revenue/cost analysis for school districts and charter schools.
• Demonstrate professional conduct and standards in all aspects of Region III ESC duties.
• Promote sensitivity and fairness in working with persons from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education Rules, and ESC board policy and procedures.
