Job summary

Region 3 ESC seeks a Specialist - School Finance to provide on-site technical assistance and training to public and charter schools in school finance, budgeting, and financial management. You will serve as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency and local districts, developing procedures aligned with state initiatives and regional needs.

The role requires strong communication, public relations skills, and the ability to interpret policy, data and funding formulas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting or related field.
• Proficient knowledge of school finance and school district accounting.
• Three years in Texas school finance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site technical assistance and training for public and charter schools in school finance, budget development and financial management.
• Serve as a liaison between TEA and local districts and charter schools.
• Develop and implement program procedures based on State initiatives and regional needs.
• Utilize interpersonal skills to promote a positive work climate.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance skills in areas of responsibility.
• Perform state funding calculations for public schools and charter schools.
