Job summary

State of Indiana, INDOT Greenfield District, is seeking a Safety Training Specialist to conduct interactive safety programs for district staff and to support winter operations. The role requires strong public speaking, knowledge of OSHA/IMUTCD regulations, and readiness to travel with accommodations where needed.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED (2+ years applicable experience) and OSHA 30-hour certification.

Qualifications

Valid CDL Class A license (if applying for CDL Trainer role).
Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations (OSHA, IMUTCD).
Trainer certifications for First Aid/CPR/AED, Fall Arrest Systems, and Traffic Control certifications.
Willingness to travel with reasonable accommodation.
OSHA 30-hour certification for General Industry and Construction; permit-required confined space.

Responsibilities

Provide interactive workplace safety and health training for district employees.
Identify potential workplace safety hazards that may lead to injuries.
Act as safety consultant for worksite analysis on traffic control and safety.
Serve as a resource during investigations of safety incidents.
Develop and maintain a district safety training calendar and PPE needs.
Assist in developing and implementing new safety programs; support emergency response activities.
