Job summary

Pearland ISD is seeking a Transportation Director to oversee the district's pupil transportation services. The role ensures safe, efficient operations and compliance with state and federal requirements.

The position requires leadership of transportation staff and coordination across departments. Qualified candidates will have a Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, five years in school bus transportation, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas CDL (Class B or A) with P and S endorsements.
• TAPT Supervisor Certification (or higher) preferred.
• Five years experience in school bus transportation.
• Knowledge of pupil transportation operations.
• Ability to manage personnel.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Able to pass DPS bus driver physical exam.
• Able to pass DOT alcohol and drug tests.
• Able to pass criminal history and MVR checks.
• Able to operate a school bus.
• Able to follow verbal and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Transportation Department operations to ensure effective pupil transportation services for the district.
• Maintain compliance with DPS and DOT requirements.
• Manage transportation personnel and schedules.
