Pearland ISD is seeking a Transportation Director to oversee the district's pupil transportation services. The role ensures safe, efficient operations and compliance with state and federal requirements.
The position requires leadership of transportation staff and coordination across departments. Qualified candidates will have a Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, five years in school bus transportation, and strong organizational and communication skills.
Oversee Transportation Department operations functions to ensure effective and efficient pupil transportation services for the district.
High School Diploma or GED
Valid license/certification or ability to obtain.
Working knowledge of pupil transportation operations
Ability to manage personnel
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Proficiently read, write, and communicate verbally in English
Ability to pass Texas Department of Public Safety school bus driver physical exam
Ability to pass U.S. Department of Transportation alcohol and drug tests
Must be able to pass criminal history check and MVR driving record check
Ability to operate a school bus
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Five years' experience in school bus transportation
Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals;
standard instructional equipment
Prolonged sitting and standing; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
Occasional light lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
Frequent districtwide travel
Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
