Job summary

Pearland ISD seeks a dependable School Bus Driver to transport students to and from school, as well as on extracurricular trips. You will ensure safety, follow routes, and maintain order on the bus in line with district policies.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED, a valid Class B Texas CDL with passenger and school bus endorsements, and DPS certification. Expect physical screenings, drug testing, and a strong English proficiency. 178 days a year.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must maintain an acceptable driving record for school bus drivers as defined by Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Must be able to proficiently read, write, and communicate verbally in English.
• Must be able to pass an annual physical and mental examination as required by Texas Department of Public Safety.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment and periodic drug and alcohol screening as required by federal law.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, orderly, and efficient transportation of students to and from school and on extracurricular trips.
• Maintain emotional control; ability to communicate effectively; ability to maintain control over groups of students.
• Complete safety procedures and evacuations as required by the bus and district policies.
