Job summary

CVS Health seeks a District Support Pharmacist (DSP) to cover pharmacist scheduling gaps and support pharmacy teams across stores. You will ensure safe dispensing, patient counseling, and immunization services while acting as a proxy for the Pharmacy Manager during bench shifts.

The role requires an active Pharmacist license, an NPI, and willingness to travel within a reasonable district radius. Regular weekend work and strong customer service are essential to patient care goals.

Qualifications

Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.

Responsibilities

Living our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
Traveling the district to fill pharmacist shifts as scheduled by the DPC; overseeing the pharmacy and serving as the Pharmacy Manager’s proxy during bench shifts without overlap.
Supporting safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflows and safety guardrails at every workstation.
Assumes Pharmacy Manager’s day-to-day duties when serving as the only or primary pharmacist-on-duty.
Coaching the pharmacy team to deliver compassionate care and resolve insurance/medication issues.
Immunizing patients and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn immunization.
Managing inventory with a focus on cold chain products and cost controls.
Maintaining up-to-date clinical and technical skills through trainings and CMEs.
