Job summary

The successful candidate will hold a IT- related degree or substantial work history, have a valid driver’s license, and pass a background check.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field; OR Associate + 4 years IT work experience.
• Associate degree plus four years experience; OR six years experience in lieu of degree with high school diploma.
• Certified Novell Administrator 6.x or higher is required.
• Four years work experience in network administration.
• Must be able to lift equipment up to 60lbs; valid driver’s license and vehicle.
• Criminal history background check and proof of citizenship or legal resident status required.

Responsibilities

• Researches new technologies to help the district meet goals.
• Monitors network and servers for performance and security.
• Performs server backups and off-site storage of tapes.
• Installs and maintains network hardware/software (Cisco, Novell, NT).
• Provides Level 2 support to technicians and hardware staff.
• Keeps patches and fixes tracked and applied.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field

Associate degree in IT or related field with 4 years experience

Six years experience in lieu of degree with technical schooling

Certified Novell Administrator 6.x or higher

Four years network administration experience

Valid driver’s license and vehicle

Ability to lift up to 60lbs

Criminal history background check and proof of citizenship or residency
