Job summary

The role leads Unit Supervisors and staff, manages district budgets, coordinates plans, and promotes outdoor recreation opportunities while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Telework may be available part-time.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional experience in a natural resource setting with budget, work planning, and partnership responsibilities.
• Two years of supervisory experience in a governmental or natural resource organization.
• A Bachelor’s or advanced degree may substitute for part of the experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of budgeting, staff development, and program management.

Responsibilities

• Direct district-wide program and activity implementation to meet goals and priorities.
• Lead and supervise Unit Supervisors and field staff to ensure effective program delivery.
• Oversee district budget management and financial planning.
• Coordinate plans and policies for district units to ensure efficient operations.
• Lead outreach, education, and visitor services to promote outdoor recreation opportunities.
• Direct resource management and land use activities to conserve natural and cultural resources.
• Direct district maintenance, development, and land acquisition activities to safeguard facilities and resources.
• Lead enforcement and emergency services for public safety in the district.
• Pursue professional development to maintain leadership and management skills.
• Develop and oversee a District 10 safety program for staff and visitors.
