Job summary

Family Dollar in Billings, MT is seeking a District Manager to lead at least 15 store teams across the district. You will drive profitability, ensure customer service, and maintain a safe, compliant work environment.

You will recruit and develop store managers, oversee merchandising, operations, budgets, and compliance, traveling up to 50% to support stores while upholding high standards of performance and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.
• At least 5 years retail experience with at least 2 years multi-store experience.
• Strong leadership and ability to build an effective team.
• Ability to analyze, organize and present information with a focus on results.
• Strong business acumen and communication skills.
• HR and asset protection skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Process management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Drive the success and profitability of stores while ensuring outstanding customer service and a safe, compliant work environment.
• Oversee merchandising, operations, and expense control programs.
• Lead, coach, and mentor store managers to meet objectives.
• Foster teamwork and open communication across the district.
• Recruit and develop district store managers.
• Drive sales, profitability, and expense management to meet company goals and objectives.
• Implement established processes to ensure operational consistency.
• Promote a culture of safety and conduct audits as needed.
• Manage district budgets and optimize store performance.
• Maintain a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers, associates, and leaders.
• Champion a customer-first mindset across the district with high standards.
• Travel up to 50% with occasional overnight stays to support stores across the district.
