Our Opportunity
Chewy Vet Care is currently looking for a District HRBP (CVC) with retail, fulfillment, and/or distribution experience to support our veterinary practice operations. The District HRBP (CVC) will report to the AD, Regional HRBP, and drive engagement with Team Members, leadership development, and performance management for a MSA of veterinary practices. This person will be responsible for setting high standards and goals for the district to improve engagement, retention, and build a culture that Team Members want to be part of. The District HRBP serves as a consultant to the leadership team on human resource-related issues, acts as a team member champion and change agent, and formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver valuable service to leaders and Team Members that reflect the strategic objectives of the organization.
What You'll Do
- Provide strategic human resources support to Chewy Vet Care practices within an MSA.
- Collaborate with the CVC HRBP team to create and implement HR strategies that support business goals.
- Act as a strategic partner to the Chewy Vet Care (CVC) district team, providing HR guidance and input on people and engagement metrics, workforce (labor) planning, leadership planning, site visits, and building strong VOP (Voice of the Practice) routines.
- Engage Practice Managers (Operations) to understand talent needs and define people strategies.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to build a pipeline of candidates and support interview processes for new practice launches.
- Support communications regarding changes, policies, and initiatives through collaboration with Practice Managers.
- Participate in employee relations, facilitate open communication, and assist in investigations of employee concerns.
- Identify gaps, propose, and implement changes to mitigate risks.
- Assist in talent review decisions, organizational planning, and support operational goals and KPIs.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations and reporting requirements.
- Operate with autonomy and build strong relationships with district leadership.
- Support and adapt to local practice shifts and staffing ramps, especially during new business launches.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Drive strategies for new launches and support workback plans within the district.
- Develop and perform standard HRBP work as directed by leadership.
- Travel up to 75% as required.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive HRBP experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, observational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to influence and lead change across organizations, aligning people strategies with business goals.
- Proven success in delivering impactful people operations programs focused on performance, culture, engagement, and retention.
Preferred Qualifications
- HR certification is a plus.
- Experience in retail, distribution, fulfillment, or manufacturing environments with a successful track record.
- Experience managing and leading HR teams.
- Supporting 250+ hourly team members in HR roles.
