Job summary

Jefferson City School District is hiring a Groundskeeper for district-wide maintenance in Jefferson City, Missouri. This non-exempt, 12-month position reports to the Assistant Facilities Director and includes benefits per the Classified Agreement.

The role involves installing and maintaining irrigation and plantings, inspecting contractor work, and assisting with snow removal and other duties as assigned. Requires E license and pesticide license preferred.

Qualifications

• Pesticide applicators license preferred.
• Class E driver’s license, with good driving history.
• Good work attitude with a positive and pleasant disposition.
• Self-starter; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Installs, repairs and maintains irrigation systems to conserve water and keep facilities attractive.
• Designs layouts for plantings district-wide and maintains for attractiveness of facilities.
• Reviews blueprints and drawings; inspects work of contractors to ensure compliance with specs.
• Responds to emergencies during/after hours to resolve safety concerns.
