Job summary

Jefferson City School District is seeking a Groundskeeper for district-wide maintenance to perform tasks per standards and codes across facilities. The role includes maintaining irrigation, plantings, and grounds, coordinating with other trades, and handling projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Pesticide applicators license preferred.
• Class E driver's license, with good driving history.
• Good work attitude with a positive and pleasant disposition.
• Self-starter; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintains irrigation systems district-wide to conserve water and keep facilities attractive.
• Designs layouts for plantings across district facilities.
• Reads blueprints/schematics and inspects outside work to ensure compliance with specs and payment.
• Estimates materials, labor, and equipment needed for assigned work and communicates needs to supervisor.
• Assists with painting athletic fields as needed for events.
• Installs and maintains plantings and mulch beds.
• Familiar with fertilizers and pesticides and their proper use.
• Assists other trades as needed.
• Responds to emergencies during and after hours to resolve safety concerns.
• Maintains district tools and equipment in a serviceable condition.
• Assists with snow removal outside normal hours.
• Other duties as assigned including moving furniture and district resources.
