Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators is seeking a Chief School Business Official to oversee the business affairs of the school district under the Superintendent’s authority. The role aims to provide excellent educational services within available financial resources.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in business and/or education and related financial experience.

Responsibilities

• Acts as Chief School Business Official of the district and oversees accounting and financial transactions.
• Supervises collection, safekeeping, and distribution of funds.
• Advises Superintendent and district admins on fiscal budgets and financial questions.
• Prepares and administers the fiscal budget and related reports.
• Arranges internal auditing of district accounts and ensures insurance coverage.
• Interprets policies and procedural guidance to staff and community.
• Attends Board meetings and contributes to district financial decisions.
• Manages procurement, inventory, and transportation financial reporting.
• Maintains reporting systems for Medicaid reimbursement and other mandates.
• Serves as fiscal analyst in staff negotiations and liaises with Finance Committee.
