Job summary

East Maine School District 63 in Illinois seeks an outstanding educational leader to serve as Assistant Superintendent of Business Services and Chief School Business Official for an in-person role.

The ideal candidate will lead the district's finance and operations, develop budgets, oversee audits and grant compliance, negotiate contracts, and advise the Superintendent and Board on financial strategy. A CPA/CSBO or CPA-related credential plus a Master’s in Finance or SBA is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, School Business Administration, or CPA.
• Extensive leadership in district finance and operations.
• Experience with five-year financial projections and annual budgets.
• Knowledge of grant compliance, audits, and internal controls.
• Ability to partner with the Superintendent and Board on financial strategy.

Responsibilities

• Lead district-wide financial reporting and annual budget process.
• Oversee payroll, benefits, and compensation administration.
• Manage facilities planning, contracts with architects, engineers, and construction managers.
• Direct procurement, bidding, and contract negotiations.
• Oversee transportation, food service, and subsidy compliance.
• Serve as advisor to Superintendent and Board on financial strategy.
