Job summary

The Illinois Association of School Administrators in Illinois invites applications for the CSBO/Director Finance & Operations to oversee all district finance and accounting functions. The role reports to the Superintendent and leads payroll, budgeting, audits, TRS/IMRF filings, and risk management.

The position requires strong accounting background, CPA/endorsements preferred, and a collaborative approach with stakeholders. Salary is commensurate with experience and district needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. in school administration, accounting, or related field; M.S. preferred.
• Chief School Business Official Endorsement, School Administration Endorsement, or CPA Certification preferred.
• Experience in school financial management preferred.
• Must have knowledge of applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation slides, etc.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and understand/follow oral and written instructions.
• Must establish and maintain effective and courteous working relationships with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records; balance, reconcile, back up, and close monthly/annual records.
• Serve as the District Treasurer.
• Oversee payroll operations.
• Prepare the district’s annual budget.
• Review and analyze departmental budgets and district expenditures; suggest reallocation and cost reductions.
• Lead annual independent audit with the district’s CPA.
• Prepare and file reports with the Illinois State Board of Education.
• Oversee TRS and IMRF filings and monthly contributions.
• Prepare the district’s annual tax levy and file with local authorities.
