Job summary

Queen Creek Unified School District seeks a District/Business Manager to oversee the Business Services Department's financial operations, ensuring compliance with policy, GAAP, and applicable laws, and support the CFO with budget, accounting and finance functions.

The role requires a BS/BA in accounting or business administration, familiarity with USFR, and experience with Visions software; 40-hour week, exempt; reports to the CFO. Background clearance is required.

Qualifications

• BS or BA in Accounting or Business Administration or related field with 2 years verifiable work experience in school district leadership.
• Working knowledge of the Uniform System of Financial Records for Arizona School Districts (USFR).
• Experience using computerized accounting applications; Visions software preferred.
• Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to apply technical knowledge in accounting, administration, budget and finance.
• Experience in analyzing records and maintaining financial records.
• Knowledge of laws and regulations governing school district finance and school business.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all functions of the Business Services Department.
• Prepare evaluations for staff and communicate performance regularly.
• Manage resources and job duties to maintain fluidity and internal controls.
• Provide reports to the CFO, at least monthly.
• Monitor budget expenditures and assist in budget preparation and reporting.
• Coordinate with Human Resources to maintain data integrity related to staffing and payroll.
• Ensure coordination with other departments and sites on financial matters.
• Facilitate site and department training related to Business Services functions.
• Coordinate with Grants Management and State/Federal Programs concerning grants.
• Coordinate with CTE Director on financial information and JTED reports.
• Reconcile District records with Maricopa County offices.
• Oversee bidding for procurements and ensure compliance with procurement processes.
• Audit and ensure compliance of attendance/enrollment for ADM reporting with ADE.
• Serve as District liaison for state-mmandated audits and E-rate processes.
• Monitor Cash Management Reports and end-of-year grant balances.
• Perform other duties to advance district priorities.
