Job summary

FedEx Freight, Inc. seeks a Facility Maintenance Lead to manage maintenance personnel and activities across a district in OH. You will lead safety-centered teams, oversee preventive/corrective maintenance, and partner with Operations to ensure uninterrupted service.

The role emphasizes vendor management, cost control, and asset readiness, with responsibility for payroll, reporting, and compliance across multiple facilities in the Huber Heights, Richfield, and West Jefferson areas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience plus two years in building maintenance or facilities environment.
• Two years of leadership, supervisory, or management experience preferred.
• Experience managing maintenance vendors, service contracts, and facility-related projects preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, doors, dock equipment and general facility infrastructure preferred.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal and employee development skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Facility Maintenance Technicians (FMTs) with a focus on safety and continuous improvement.
• Oversee district maintenance operations including work orders, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
• Track performance metrics like aging work orders, response times, backlog, and service quality.
• Collaborate with Operations leadership to prioritize maintenance needs and sustain operations.
• Manage vendor performance and relationships to ensure service standards while reducing costs.
• Control maintenance spend through cost analysis and resource optimization.
• Coordinate daily operations: prioritization, scheduling, resource allocation, and project execution.
• Oversee payroll, timekeeping, work orders, reporting, inventory, and system compliance.
• Promote communication to review performance, reinforce safety, and drive improvements.
• Ensure compliance with laws, regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
