Job summary

New London Community School District is seeking a District Maintenance Technician to maintain safe, clean, and functional facilities and grounds across the district. The role involves routine maintenance, repairs, and coordination with outside contractors on a full-time, hourly basis.

The position requires the ability to troubleshoot problems, operate basic tools, and manage preventive maintenance while ensuring safety and compliance with district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in building maintenance or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, painting, and general building maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot maintenance problems and determine appropriate solutions.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout district buildings and facilities.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, grounds, and mechanical systems and report maintenance concerns.
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, door/hardware, and general repair work.
• Assist with operation, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance of HVAC systems.
• Maintain records of repairs, inspections, preventive maintenance, and supplies as directed.
