Job summary

LAME DEER PUBLIC SCHOOLS seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead district-wide maintenance and custodial programs. You will supervise all maintenance and custodial personnel, plan schedules, and ensure safety and compliance with district policies.

You will recruit, orient, and train staff; manage timecards and inventories; coordinate remodeling and repairs of district facilities; and work with principals to implement preventative maintenance programs and cost-conscious operations.

Qualifications

• Completed district employment application.
• Must pass a background check.
• Electrical, plumbing and carpentry experience.
• Vehicle maintenance experience.
• Grounds maintenance experience.
• Janitorial experience.
• High School graduate.
• Must be able to successfully complete performance responsibilities listed below.
• Any other qualifications as the School Board may find appropriate and/or acceptable.
• Demonstrated competencies and interpersonal skills in recruitment and training for maintenance and custodial workers.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and directs all maintenance and custodial personnel.
• Schedules, coordinates, and dispatches all district maintenance and custodial services.
• Reviews and adheres to all district policies and state laws pertaining to maintenance and custodial services.
• Establishes and maintains an efficient and effective system of routine maintenance and preventative care for all maintenance and custodial work in the district.
• Establishes and supervises a system for the receipt and issuance of parts/supplies.
• Keeps records and inventories on all maintenance activities.
• Promotes high standards of safety and cleanliness.
• Orients and trains custodians and maintenance staff.
• Completes and submits all forms, reports, and data required.
• Assists in recruitment, screening, training, and evaluation of maintenance and custodial personnel.
• Reports accidents and completes required reports promptly.
• Maintains confidentiality and ethical behavior as required of school district employees.
• Verifies timecards and leave requests.
• Recommends purchases of equipment and supplies.
• Receives, stores, and issues materials, supplies, and equipment.
• Supervises remodeling and repairs of school housing units.
• Directs snow removal operations.
• Advises on hiring of individual contractors.
• Establishes priorities on repair projects with the Superintendent.
• Consults with building principals regarding preventative maintenance program.
• Is responsible for landscaping projects.
• Direct maintenance workers in lawn care, irrigation, and grounds upkeep.
• Performs any other duties as assigned
