Job summary

Illinois Department of Transportation seeks a District Estimating Engineer (Civil Engineer IV) in Collinsville, IL. The role provides preliminary and final cost estimates for Location Studies and Design programs to determine bid reasonableness and funding.

Hybrid work arrangement with in-office requirements up to five days per week. The position requires a current IL Professional Engineer or IL Structural Engineer license and at least four years of civil engineering experience, with opportunity

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois or as a Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.
• Four years of experience in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Provides cost estimating expertise to all district bureaus for establishing programs.
• Provides final cost estimates for state and local projects used in bid decisions.
• Applies engineering methods and cost factors to study and plan units for final design.
• Acts as the Value Engineering Coordinator for the district.
• Maintains knowledge of national and local economics and construction trends.
• Trains, motivates, and evaluates subordinate personnel and prepares cost estimates.

Licensed Structural Engineer (IL)

Experience: Civil engineering (minimum 4 years)
