Job summary

NC Department of Transportation seeks an Engineering Supervisor III to oversee district engineering operations in Stanly County. The role includes managing construction, contract administration, and supervising engineers and staff to meet project delivery goals.

You will coordinate secondary road programs, review subdivision plans, and work with municipalities on zoning and permits, while serving as the primary contact for public inquiries.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering is required with 5+ years of progressively responsible experience, including 3+ years supervising staff.
• May require registration as a professional engineer (PE) per NC Board requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate construction and contract administration within the District.
• Directly supervise engineers, technicians and clerical staff and provide technical assistance on engineering problems.
• Supervise development of secondary road programs and preparation of plans for Division projects.
• Directs the review of plans for subdivisions and permits/encroachments.
• Coordinate with municipalities on zoning review cases and serve as the point of contact for municipalities and the public.
