The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience, a bachelor’s degree, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, including evenings and weekends as needed. Orange County ties are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

  • Five years or more of relevant professional experience.
  • A bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with Orange County and California’s 47th Congressional District
  • Experience working directly with an elected official/political candidate, as well as experience managing staff
  • Ability to work outside of traditional business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed

  • Collaborate with leadership to align district office strategies with the Member's vision.
  • Attend events and speak to local groups, representing the Member.
  • Oversee constituent casework with federal agencies and schedule meetings.
  • Facilitate information sharing between district and D.C. offices.
  • Directly manage outreach, constituent services staff, and the District Scheduler.
  • Oversee essential district office functions and ensure policy compliance.
  • Travel within the district to stay informed on local concerns.
  • Plan district-based media and press events with the communications team.

Location:Costa Mesa, CA

Salary:$100,000 - $115,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Congressman Min is seeking a dynamic leader to fill the District Director role in his Costa Mesa Office in a full-time capacity.

Applicants should prefer working in fast-paced environment and have at least five years of relevant professional experience. Skills that will be critical to success in this role include decision-making, political acumen, project management, creativity, and public speaking. The District Director is a senior member of the Congressman’s team and will report to the Chief of Staff.

This is not an entry-level position.Strong candidates will have experience working directly with an elected official/political candidate, as well as experience managing staff. Orange County ties are strongly preferred.

Essential Job Functions
  • Collaborate with the Member, Chief of Staff, Legislative Director, and Communications Director to ensure district office strategies and operating plans align with the Member's strategic vision and goals.
  • Attend events, speak to local groups, and meet with elected officials and representatives in the district, serving as the primary representative on behalf of the Member.
  • Oversee the Member's constituent casework activities with Federal departments and agencies to monitor progress and schedule meetings as necessary
  • Facilitate information sharing between the Member's district office(s) and the D.C. office
  • Directly manage the Congressman’s outreach and constituent services staff and the District Scheduler
  • Oversee all essential functions of the District Office and ensure compliance with office policies and processes
  • Travel throughout the district at regular intervals to keep abreast of local concerns
  • Partner with the Member’s communications team to plan district-based media and press events
