SCHOOL CROSSING GUARD (3 Positions)

Qualifications

Required:

• Experience in this type of work preferred but not required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
• Physically able to perform tasks required for the job function (i.e. standing for extended periods of time).

• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to take direction from others.
• Ability to perform assigned tasks in a timely manner.

General Description / Specific Performance Indicators

• Receives instruction from the Director of Security in the duties to be performed.
• Assists school children and others in safely crossing the street during allotted times specified by the Director of Security.
• Stops traffic by utilizing a hand-held stop sign and ensures vehicles remain stopped until children safely cross the street.
• Reports any problems or violations directly to the Director of Security.
• Effectively and courteously deals with the public including children while at assigned position.

Possess the physical and mental attributes required to perform all essential job functions.

Terms of Employment: Salary:
2025-2026 School Year $25.00 per hour
172 Days (approximately 2 Hours per day)
