Job summary

The Contra Costa Community College District seeks a collaborative, strategic Chief Information Officer to shape technology strategy, guide investments, and advance student success across three colleges. The CIO leads security, modernization, and governance while aligning priorities with district goals.

As a member of the Chancellor’s Cabinet, you will oversee budgets, vendor relationships, and organizational change to deliver reliable, secure technology services districtwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Equivalent to at least five (5) years of increasingly responsible management experience leading enterprise information technology operations.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diversity in the workplace and educational environment.
• Strategic technology planning and governance.
• Enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud platforms, and systems integration.
• Cybersecurity frameworks, risk management practices, and regulatory compliance.
• Technology service management and continuous improvement methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Leads the development, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the District’s technology strategy and roadmap to advance priorities.
• Evaluates emerging technologies to identify opportunities to improve effectiveness and service delivery.
• Serves on Chancellor’s Cabinet and advises leadership on technology strategy, risk, and opportunities.
• Establishes and facilitates participatory technology governance processes to identify priorities and investments.
• Directs planning, operation, modernization, and lifecycle management of district technology services and networks.
• Leads cybersecurity program including governance, IAM, incident response, and disaster recovery.
• Develops and administers technology budgets and investment plans; monitors expenditures.
