Job summary

Maschio's Food Services, Inc. in Somerset County, NJ seeks a District Chef for a full-time, Monday–Friday day-shift role with occasional nights/weekends for catering events. Travel within the school district is required.

You will oversee and train cooks, ensure proper cooking procedures and presentation, and manage food orders and monthly inventory in a safe, sanitary environment. The ideal candidate has culinary and catering experience, satellite preparation skills, and ServSafe certification.

Qualifications

• Culinary experience is required.

• K-12 experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Job description

Culinary experience is required. Must be willing to travel with in the school district. Chef testing may be given. Must be able to obtain the proper documentation to work in schools.

Oversee and train cooks in each school within the district. Ensure proper cooking procedures and presentation of food is being observed.

ServSafe® Certification Required.

• Must have experience in catering.

• Creating different menus items while adhering to school food service guideline NSLP.
• Place food orders
• Monthly inventory.
